Reddit Made Me Do It…

A few weeks ago when I went on my Reddit journey. I was very interested in creating a stock tank pool for my family to enjoy. I joined a Reddit group called Stock Tank Pools. https://www.reddit.com/r/Stocktankpools/

I’ve learned so much! And seeing others with their pool made me want one even more! From the group I found an excellent DIY page with steps on how to complete the project. Let’s just say it looks more complicated than it actually is to set up.

DIY Guide: https://www.stocktankpool.net/setup

My husband and I loaded up the kiddos and made our way to our local Tractor Supply and picked up an 6ft wide stock tank. (Looking back we should have gone bigger!)

I grabbed the rest of the items needed from Amazon and Walmart.

My husband had to work some long weekends so my parents came to help! We cleaned out the pool since it sat for a few days while I waited for the other items to come.

Margot even “helped” a little bit.

Once the holes were drilled for the pump it was time to fill it up! We have well water since we live in the middle of nowhere. Little did I know the metals in well water such as copper react with chlorine. The metal oxidizes and turns green! Thankfully after a few days it turns crystal clear 😎

Here is a photo of us sitting in our “green” pool and then one where the water turned clear.

After two weeks… I’m proud to say I’m a stock tank pool owner. Thanks to Reddit 😅
