Taking Cara Babies (NKA)

I've been struggling with the term Networked Knowlege. Thanks to my classmate's blog posts. I've been able to grasp the concept now. This means let's blog about a group.

One of my favorite social network group that helped me with the beginning stages of motherhood was the Taking Cara Babies Support Group on Facebook. My first born, Margot struggled with sleep. The first three months were rough. I think I had the worst mixture of things happening all at once. I was in the midst of the pandemic and was a new mother. I had no idea what I was doing. I remember nights, when we would just sleep with the lights on, or my husband, would sleep with Margot on the mamaroo full blast. She has to be in constant motion in order for her to sleep.

I came across Taking Cara Babies and it's like there was light at the end of the tunnel. I could feel hope that I would actually be able to finally get some sleep and Margot would as well.

I looked through the advice given on the Facebook group and followed Taking Cara Babies on Instagram. I was able to fill up my mental toolkit for how I could finally sleep train Margot. It was hard, but I knew we'd both be happier for it.

Here we are two years later and Margot is a great sleeper! Still has her occasional "parties". I like to call them parties because she just talks to herself for an hour or so. There are no longer screams of terror or waking up every three hours. Now we have Waylon who is 6 months old and is an amazing sleeper since the start *knock on wood* the 6-month regression doesn't get us. 😅
