Reflection - 6/26/2022 #SumItUpSunday

Wow what a week! I have no idea how influencers or anyone who uses social media on the daily to create curated content does it. I just had to post once a day and was struggling. Between working full time, single parenting it this week while my husband was away for a fishing trip, to both my kiddos getting sick… I just yeah… I have no idea how people do it. Let’s just say I won’t be quitting my day job anytime soon to take to social media. 

I also realized how curated content works. Just after my first post on Instagram two people thought I was getting hacked 😅 I added a disclaimer on my second post. There wasn’t much activity, but I did have someone say they loved OneDrive as well. So that was cool. I think because what I was posting wasn’t my usual content. There wasn’t much traction on my posts. I think it’s for sure because I was posting to the right crowd. I will say it was pretty crazy how one reel on my daughter got 4,730 views. Which I don’t know how that makes me feel? Kinda weird about it. I always keep my photos to my friends and family which are usually the people who follow me on social media. I might delete it later. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think I like twitter challenges better. Less pressure on what to post.

    Yes!!! Social media management is a lot of work! This is an ongoing point I discuss at work. A few of my coworkers havenʻt had much experience making social media things and I think assume it is a quick and easy process. But no.A little different, but I often feel the same when posting about my nephews. I agree about the greater pressure for the IG challenge. For me, I think it was because I am less equipped with visual skills. Canva templates are the limit for me. And, I personally use IG more so I had a lot more to think through than with Twitter where it was very much a blank page for me. Should I make a separate school account or us my personal? Should I make a reel or story? I knew enough to ask more questions and consider more and thus feel more pressure lol. I hope some r&r is in your near future :) sounds like a week!

    I definitely feel this! Social media posting is exhausting and a ton of work! I also think it is very interesting how posts to different groups of people in different contexts have very different effects and levels of interaction! - Lauren Shell

Happy Hump Day! This week feels longer than the last. Could be because school lets out in 6 days, which means my workload lightens and I can already feel myself wanting to take a much-needed vacation.  After looking through the different reading options this week, the journal article that stood out most to me was, "Constructing academic alter-egos: identity issues in a blog-based community". The keyword is alter-egos . As I read through the article I kept thinking about Monday's Instagram challenge. I don't just post all the time on my Instagram feed. Only "curated" photos go there. If I want to share a photo or video that doesn't fit my "standard" of what goes on my feed, I just share it to my stories. What Type of Blogger Am I?

I enjoyed reading the type of blogger post! Reading it I first thought. "Oh I am soooo the transactional blogger." I'm trying to check the boxes off my list and figure out when and what I'll post for the week before the week is up. I'm just trying to get through the week and move on. But! As I read through the others I tried to see myself in them. Maybe I'm a little bit teacher ? But I haven't done any teaching yet. I feel like I am in the reflective stage right now. I'm just writing these blogs for myself. Using them to figure out what the heck I am doing. And yes, I don't actually want anyone to read my blog posts. If I see ever see you in public, I will hide. Reflection - 7/24/2022

One week left! I can't wait for the end.  Ok... maybe it's not finally over, but this time we are close. Next week I plan to use my blogging token and so this will be my last blog (wooh!). While blogging sometimes was very therapeutic, it was also just something else to add to my endless list of tasks. From what I have seen in this course, there are some natural bloggers out there! I hope they keep going 😊 As for me, I'm done.  Tonight I'll start my PLN and I think I'm going to write about an area of personal interest. Just because this course has taught me how much I love talking about being a new parent specifically breastfeeding, baby-lead weaning, and child development. There have been quite a few moments in this course that I've touched on those topics. This PLN has been growing with me as I enter new chapters in the life of parenthood.  Here we go! Let's start at 11pm at night and see how far we can get.
